What are the things that sap the time and energy of leaders and their teams?


Distinctive #1: A leader does not get distracted away from the main cause by issues that use time and energy out of proportion to the dominant cause.

Sit down today and take 5 minutes. No more and no less.

This will cause your mind to begin to focus rapidly.

On a sheet of paper, begin listing the things that are distractions to you and your team. When you are finished, analyze the list.

  1. Are they things that are major or minor toward your main cause or goal?

  2. Do they sap time, money, energy or all three?

  3. What would happen if you dealt with these distractions today?

  4. What will eventually happen if you don’t deal with the distractions?
